  • Analyzing Melatonin, Cortisol, and DHEA
  • Testing method: Saliva sample
  • Done from home without a doctor's visit
  • ISO-certified laboratory
  • Test results within approximately 8 days

Are you sleeping poorly? Imbalances between the hormones melatonin, cortisol, and DHEA may be the cause of your sleep problems and/or perceived physical and mental stress. There is a close relationship between sleep cycles and the secretion of these important hormones. Having sleep problems or sleeping less than recommended increases the risk of hormonal imbalances that can disrupt sleep.

IMPORTANT! Sample collection is performed at two separate times during a day. The first sample should be taken when you wake up in the morning, and the second should be taken in the evening.

Hormonal Profile Sleep

Product Description

Test hormones that are important for sleep

With this test you can find out how your levels of the hormones melatonin, cortisol, and DHEA look, and if you have any imbalances that can affect your sleep or be the cause of sleep difficulties. The test is a saliva test that you can easily perform at home. Saliva is collected two times during the day: the first is taken directly when you wake up and the second in the evening before you go to sleep. The sample is then sent to our ISO-certified laboratory for analysis, and you will receive your result digitally as soon as the lab has analyzed your sample.

Hormones analyzed:

Melatonin

Melatonin is the body's own sleep hormone and is continuously produced in the body around the clock. Melatonin has a calming effect that helps us to become sleepy. The production of melatonin occurs in the pineal gland in the brain and secretion is controlled by light and darkness. A corrupted level of melatonin in the body or too low production of the sleep hormone affects sleep. Both too low or too high levels can contribute to disturbed sleep.

Cortisol

Cortisol is the body's stress hormone that provides energy and productivity during both physical and mental stress. Cortisol also controls wakefulness and should be at its lowest during the night, but disturbances can occur when we expose ourselves to stress. This means that cortisol levels can remain high even during the night, which can prevent the body from winding down and lead to problems achieving rest. High cortisol levels often manifest as sleep difficulties such as difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, or waking up too early.

DHEA

DHEA is a prohormone and a precursor to many other hormones, which are responsible for, among other things, stress control and mineral metabolism. In the hormone DHEA, the body has developed a protective mechanism against the negative effects of stress. High levels of DHEA are often associated with sleep disturbances. Note that levels are linked to age, with the highest levels occurring in young adulthood and decreasing with age.

Frequently Asked Questions

How safe and reliable is the test?

It is just as safe and reliable as if you had it done within the healthcare system. This, of course, assumes that you follow the instructions and submit the test within the specified time.

So I just spit into a test tube and then you can analyze it?

Well, you'll have to insert a small cotton swab into your mouth. It looks like a pacifier, but it quickly absorbs your saliva. After a few minutes, it will be filled with saliva. You then push the saliva into a specially designed test tube. You screw the airtight cap on and then you just need to put the test tube in the return envelope provided and we'll take care of the rest.

When will I get the results?

You will get the results within a few days, usually within 5 working days, but we guarantee it within 8 days.

Am I completely anonymous? Will my doctor have access to my test results?

No, no one but you can see your test results. Not even we can see them. In theory, our lab can see your test results, but they won't see your name. In other words, you are completely anonymous.

Where is this test produced?

Everything is produced and quality-assured within the EU. Even the analysis is done within the EU. This means that your test result is handled by highly trained personnel with solid expertise.

Mark
I have been sleeping poorly since my teenage years and have tried practically everything. I received my test results last week and it looks like my melatonin is completely off. I would like to get in touch with someone who can help me because now I have it in black and white. Will you be contacting me?
Mia
