Quicktest Liver Test indicates elevated levels of liver enzyme values in the blood (ASAT, ALAT). These enzymes are released by the liver in response to liver damage and/or liver diseases.
By detecting elevated levels of ALAT and ASAT, you can seek medical care for investigation and possible treatment of diseases and liver damage at an early stage. If levels are elevated, you should always contact a doctor for further investigation.

High reliability - you can do the test at home - immediate results
Do you take a lot of medication? Perhaps you consume too much alcohol? The liver is an important organ that plays a critical role in health. Among other things, your liver helps to break down food, purify the blood, produce proteins, and store energy. Liver problems can cause a range of symptoms, such as dark urine or pale stools, poor appetite, yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice), swelling over the abdomen, weakness or severe fatigue. There may be many causes related to liver problems, such as hepatitis, side effects of certain medications, cirrhosis due to heavy alcohol consumption, obesity, diabetes, or high blood pressure.
There are many tests that can be performed on the liver, but the most common tests are to measure the levels of transaminases (ALT and AST), which are specific liver enzymes. These enzymes are released into the blood by the liver in response to damage or liver disease. Our liver test is a reliable immunodiagnostic test for the immunological detection of elevated transaminase levels (both ALT and AST). A simple finger prick provides a quick and secure answer.
The liver test from Quicktest is highly reliable and safe - it is also CE-marked.
Why should I test myself?
It can be difficult to detect liver problems, as the symptoms are quite general and can easily be confused with other conditions. A simple test can help alleviate your worries. A positive test means that your liver is not healthy - you can seek care more easily and quickly and get the right treatment, which is important because liver damage can lead to serious complications.

Our tests are reliable, however, it is important to understand how the tests work and what the differences are compared to laboratory tests. Simply put, it works like this:
There are different types of self-tests, regardless of the type of test, a body fluid is required; some require blood, some urine, saliva, and some secretions from, for example, the vagina. When the body fluid comes into contact with the test, a reaction occurs and a result is shown - positive or negative. A test that shows a positive or negative result is called a qualitative test, meaning you get a yes or no answer. The tests are "pre-programmed" with a so-called threshold value, if the result is above or below a predetermined value, the test shows positive. The threshold value is determined by WHO (World Health Organization).
A laboratory test provides a quantitative answer, meaning you get a value. Our tests thus give a positive or negative result based on a threshold value set by WHO. A laboratory provides an exact answer, such as 87 IU/L of transaminases. In this case, our test would have shown positive instead.
You should contact your doctor, mention that you have done an IVD self-test that indicates elevated levels of ALT/AST. Be clear about your alcohol habits.
No. Our tests are not used for diagnosis, they are used to provide an indication. It is always the doctor who makes the diagnosis, which is often done after various tests and clinical examinations.
There are many answers to that question. Most of our customers find that our tests have resulted in them finally receiving help from primary care. When a test indicates that something is not right, many feel that they can more easily get the help they are entitled to. Therefore, always take a picture of the result if it is positive and bring it to your doctor.
By following all the directives required for CE-marking. This means, among other things, that we have made sure that manuals etc. are easy to understand - even for those who do not have a medical education. Our tests are also manufactured in Europe, which gives consumers extra security as the regulations for these tests are extensive.
Good liver function is extremely important. Common symptoms that something is not quite right to include, among others, dark urine, stool that is either unusually light or black, swollen abdomen, and upper abdominal pain. Please note that it is always recommended to seek medical care for these symptoms, regardless of test results.
