With the Menopause Test from Quicktest, you can find out on your own if you have reached menopause. The test measures Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) in a woman's urine, a hormone that increases during menopause. Most women approach the phase of life called menopause, or perimenopause, at around 45 years of age. Menopause is a natural part of ageing and is caused by the fact that the number of egg follicles in the ovaries is running out. This also affects estrogen production, which decreases. Menopause can last for different lengths of time, from a year to more than ten years.
The symptoms and experiences can vary greatly from person to person. Some experience almost no menopausal symptoms, while others are noticeably affected in their general well-being. Many women feel bad, both physically and mentally. Reduced levels of estrogen affect the whole body and can cause symptoms such as:
Many middle-aged women suffer from menopausal symptoms and may experience problems with their mood or suffer from hot flashes. Knowing whether you have reached menopause is important, but also an emotional, moment for many women. When approaching menopause, irregular menstruation is a common early sign, but it can be difficult to know whether you have actually reached menopause or are still fertile. By testing yourself, you will find out if you are in menopause. The Quicktest menopause test checks for an elevated level of the hormone FSH, which increases in the body during menopause and then remains elevated for three to five years. If you experience bothersome symptoms due to decreased estrogen production, such as menopausal symptoms or transitional symptoms, there is help available in the form of medical treatment.

Yes. To determine if a woman is in menopause, one can test for the presence of FSH in urine, a hormone that increases during menopause. Our menopause test detects the presence of FSH when the concentration is or exceeds 25 mIU/ml. The test then shows positive, indicating that the FSH levels suggest that you have reached menopause.
Our menopause test is performed through a simple urine test.
Since FSH is a follicle-stimulating hormone that controls the growth of a woman's ovarian follicles and the maturation of eggs, FSH levels also rise during parts of a fertile woman's menstrual cycle. In the days before ovulation, FSH increases dramatically to enable ovulation, causing FSH to rise to between 20 and 90 IU/L during ovulation before dropping again. Our test shows positive when the FSH concentration is or exceeds 25 mIU/ml. Elevated levels of FSH that persist, however, are very common in the early stages of menopause. To determine if you have reached menopause, you need to check if your body's FSH levels remain high. Therefore, our menopause test includes 2 tests. If the result is positive with the first Quicktest Menopause Test, a new test should be performed 5 or 7 days later. If a positive result persists, the FSH level was elevated over a period and may therefore suggest that you are undergoing the menopausal process. You should contact your gynaecologist to confirm or rule out menopause.
Yes, a few extra seconds will not affect the test result.
No, as the sample amount may be insufficient.
If you are using hormonal contraception and have just stopped, it is possible that your cycles may be irregular for a time, which can affect the result. It is recommended to wait for two cycles before using the Quicktest Menopause Test.
The result is correct as long as the instructions for use are followed carefully. The test may be incorrect if the test strip is moist before the test is performed. If unexpected results occur, it is recommended to consult a gynaecologist, as some health problems can cause an incorrect diagnosis.
A positive test indicates that the FSH level is equal to or higher than 25 mIU/ml, which means that you may be in the premenopausal phase. The transition is defined as the cessation of menstruation for a period of 12 months. The test result may be positive while the duration of your menstrual cycle is still normal. This means that you are in the perimenopausal phase.
