Stomach flu?

It could be due to Rotavirus. In fact, Rotavirus is one of the most common causes of stomach flu. The virus causes, among other things, the classic stomach flu that is common in children between 1-6 years old.

Common symptoms include sudden vomiting, diarrhoea, and fever. Stomach pain is also quite common. The time from infection to symptoms is short, about 1-3 days (also called the incubation period).

Did you know that Rotavirus, under a microscope, looks like a wheel? The word "rota" actually means "wheel" in Latin. In addition to detecting Rotavirus infection, this test can also detect Adenovirus, which is a common cause of infection.

In most cases, the respiratory system is affected, but infection with Adenovirus can cause strong general symptoms and affect many different organ systems. Adenovirus often causes cold-like symptoms such as cough, mildly pink eyes, sore throat, and coughing. Individuals with weakened immune systems may require care for Adeno infection, primarily older individuals but also those with underlying diseases.
