Frequently asked questions
Answers to the key questions before you order.
What does the food intolerance test analyse?
The laboratory analyses the sample for reactions to 140 substances: 120 common foods and 20 additives. These include cereals, dairy products, eggs, coffee, tea, fruit, vegetables, and several animal-derived foods.
Is food intolerance the same as food allergy?
No. Food intolerance and food allergy are different types of reactions. This test is intended to indicate sensitivity reactions and must not be used to assess or rule out an acute allergy.
How do I collect the sample at home?
Use the included lancet to collect a small blood sample from your finger. Place the drop of blood on the test pad as instructed. Then allow the sample to dry before packing it and sending it to the laboratory.
What is included in the test kit?
The kit contains the materials you need to collect the sample at home, including a lancet, test pad, clear instructions, and a prepaid return envelope for the sample.
How do I send the sample to the laboratory?
After collecting and preparing the sample as instructed, place it in the included prepaid return envelope and post it. You do not need to arrange separate return postage.
How long does it take to receive the result?
The normal turnaround time is approximately 8–12 business days from when the laboratory receives the sample. Processing may take slightly longer during public holidays and holiday periods.
How do I receive and read my result?
You will receive an email when the analysis is complete and can then sign in securely to view your digital report. The report shows any reactions detected, how they are graded, and provides guidance on elimination and reintroduction.
Can the result tell me exactly what I should stop eating?
The report provides a structured starting point and shows which substances may warrant extra attention. The result should be considered alongside how you actually feel and does not replace an individual medical assessment.
Can children take the test?
Yes, the test can be taken from the age of 3. An adult must help the child collect the sample and follow the instructions included with the kit.
What is not included in the analysis?
The test does not analyse intolerance to lactose, fructose, sorbitol, histamine, or gluten. These require other types of tests. This is also not an allergy test.
