The test at a glance
- Sample collection entirely at home
- Liquid capillary blood from the fingertip
- Quantitative laboratory values
- Medical laboratory accredited to ISO 15189
- Quality assurance according to Rili-BÄK
- Digital results in a personal health portal
What does the health check measure?
Blood lipids
Total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides provide a basic overview of blood lipids and are used alongside other risk factors to assess cardiovascular health.
Long-term blood sugar
HbA1c reflects average blood sugar levels over approximately the last two to three months.
Inflammation
hs-CRP is a high-sensitivity marker for inflammation. The value is non-specific and can be affected by factors such as infection.
Iron status
Ferritin serves as a marker for the body's iron stores. Transferrin transports iron in the blood. Ferritin levels can also rise in response to inflammation.
Vitamins
25-OH-vitamin D is used to assess vitamin D status. Holotranscobalamin (active B12) indicates the fraction of B12 available to the body's cells.
Thyroid
TSH regulates the thyroid gland's hormone production. Free T3 and free T4 represent the unbound thyroid hormones, while TPO antibodies can be relevant in cases of autoimmune activity.
Liver
ALT, ALP, GGT, bilirubin, albumin, and total protein provide information on various aspects of the liver, bile ducts, and blood proteins.
Kidneys and electrolytes
Creatinine and cystatin C are used to estimate kidney filtration capacity. eGFR is a calculated value. Sodium reflects a key component of the body's fluid and electrolyte balance.
All included markers
- Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides
- HbA1c
- hs-CRP
- Ferritin
- 25-OH-vitamin D and active B12 (Holo-TC)
- TSH
- ALT and GGT
- Creatinine and calculated eGFR
Symptoms and when a broader health check might be relevant
The basic profile is designed for those who want a clear overview of several key health areas from a single test.
The test may be relevant in cases of fatigue or low energy, or when you want to monitor metabolic and organ-related markers. Symptoms can have many different causes.
Many abnormalities do not cause clear symptoms. A test can therefore reveal values that cannot be assessed based on how you feel.
Who is this test for?
- For those who want a broad, basic health check.
- For those who want to monitor several key markers over time.
- For those who want to take the test entirely at home.
How the test works
- Order the test and receive the sampling kit at home.
- Read the instructions and complete any necessary preparations.
- Prick your fingertip and collect liquid capillary blood in the provided test tube.
- Label, pack, and send the sample to the laboratory.
- The laboratory analyzes the included markers.
- View your digital lab results in your personal health portal.
Before sample collection
Follow the instructions included in the sample collection kit. Any requirements regarding fasting or timing are specified there.
Laboratory and quality
The sample is analyzed at a medical laboratory accredited according to ISO 15189. The laboratory’s quality assurance also adheres to Rili-BÄK guidelines for laboratory medical testing.
- Sample material: liquid capillary blood
- Collection site: at home
- Result: digital laboratory report
- Turnaround time: transport time and the scope of the analysis affect the total time
Results and reference values
The result shows the analyzed markers and any calculated values, along with the laboratory's units and applicable reference ranges. Results should be interpreted in the context of age, gender, symptoms, medications, lifestyle habits, and medical history.
Important information about the results
A health check can identify abnormal laboratory values but does not provide a medical diagnosis and does not rule out disease. Contact a healthcare provider in the event of significantly abnormal results, persistent symptoms, or concerns.
Compare health checks
For additional heart, kidney, thyroid, and hormone markers, see Intermediate Health Check or Comprehensive Health Check.
Frequently asked questions
Can the health check detect disease?
It can show abnormal laboratory values but cannot provide a diagnosis on its own.
How do I receive the results?
The results are displayed digitally, showing the laboratory's units and current reference ranges.
What should I do if a value is abnormal?
Contact a healthcare provider for a medical assessment and potential follow-up.
Can medications and supplements affect the results?
Yes, certain markers can be affected. Never alter prescribed treatment without consulting a healthcare provider.
Can I compare the results with a later test?
Yes. For the most meaningful comparison, follow-up tests should be performed under similar conditions.
